In the city of San Francisco, one popular mode of transportation is riding bicycles. Unfortunatetly this has lead to a big rise in bicycle theft, but now the city is targeting the issue with using “bait” bicycles that have been equipped with GPS trackers. The GPS in the bicycles allow the police to know exactly where the bike is at all times, since the time it is taken. This video from the New York Times, explains how the whole program works
